Logan School Endowment
The purpose of this endowment is to preserve the existence of the school as a functional educational institution with its facilities located within Logan. At the present time, many rural school’s survival is being threatened. To ensure a stable future for the Logan school, we must take a very progressive approach through this school endowment. In doing so, not only the school (and the attending students) will have an enriched education, but such action will solidify the continued growth of city of Logan and potential for more families and students in the future.
The ultimate goal for the Logan School endowment is to reach the interest capacity for providing around one-half (½) of the school’s current operational budget, which is about $1 million dollars. This will provide the cash availabilities for any operational fund if any emergency arises, while still providing strong long-term support to improve the educational environment and maintain or expand current projects and programs for the students in the school district.
For those highly spirited Trojan alumni, who like competition, a special donor group has been created. The Ad Astra Team was created to encourage competition between alumni and classes, to promote leadership for this cause and to inspire others to meet the five year goal of the endowment. Your “Team” level can be changed up or down over the 5 years. If a higher level is chosen at a later time, one just has to make up the difference of what should have been paid up to that point. If a lower committment is made, then the paid donation portion is spread out further. This idea come forward by the committee to make it easier to make a commitment to a team, especially during this challenging national economy where the future is unknown. Understand that any commitment on this team, helps us raise more outside grant funding early in this capital campaign, so if you can be part of a “star” in the Ad Astera team, please do!
We have also created the Legacy Club. This is a club to honor those alumni, alumni spouses, and/or alumni family which have gone on before us. Donations for this club can be given “in memory” of a past loved one (alumni or non-alumni). These will have a special recognition during the Alumni Banquet each year.
A check, (payable to LCDF – USD #326 School Endowment) can be sent as well, to LCDF, P.O. Box 218, Logan, KS 67646. All donations to this fund are tax deductible because of the LCDF’s non-profit, 501-c-3 status. Check with your accountant for you own tax advantages in giving a donation.
Your cumulative donation(s) throughout the year will determine the specific membership level you have attained during the year. The catagories for giving are:
Sustaining Member: up to $100 per year
Shield Member: $101 - $500 per year
Sword Member: $501 – 1499 per year
Spartan Member: $1500 - $5000 per year
Stronghold Member: $5001 and up per year
Ad-Astra Team:
Members giving a commitment for five years, and increasing the level (Star) of giving by the first year’s giving increment each of the five years will be entered onto the special Ad-Astra Team. A star {$100 increment} represents a ranking level within the club. The number of stars chosen the first giving year will be the same amount the donation will increase by each year over the entire five year commitment period. For example, an alumni choosing to be on the Ad-Astra “1 star” Team, their donation year 1 would be $100, year #2, $200, year #3, $300, year #4, $400, and year #5, $500. If they chose the Ad-Astra “2-star”Team, then year #1 would be $200, year #2, $400, etc. There is no limit on a “star” level. Being part of an Ad-Astra Team and achieving higher rankings will constitute particular meratorious honors throughout the five years. This is being done specifically to raise “committed funds” in order to use as a “match” for grants being written to grow the endowment faster. For more, information go to our website or call us directly.
Benefits: Listing on website (if desired), letterman’s jacket (at end of 5 years), patches for ranking, a special Ad-Astra patch, Ad-Astra members noted at Alumni banquet (each year), inscription on special plaque, e-mail updates and others benefits.
Legacy Club:
Members giving a commitment in recognition of an alumni member which have passed away. This commitment of funds by the family, an individual or a class would be given toward the endowment fund as an “In Memory for” the honored person. The honored person will be acknowledged at the membership level reflected by the donation. There will be additional recognition for those honored alumni being committed toward the Ad-Astra Team.
A legacy donation can be toward anyone: a teacher, relative, friend, spouse, or significant other.
